It’s a Throwback Thursday.  Today’s TBT project is a Thoughts & Prayers Sympathy Card.

Stampin' With Pixie sympathy card in Chocolate Chip brown, Island Indigo teal and Very Vanilla cardstock. It features a hand-stamped tree and sentiment from the Stampin' Up! Thoughts & Prayers stamp set on the center of the card. The center artwork is mounted on multiple alternating mat layers in teal, brown and cream in varying sizes. Three buttons on the left and a Pool Party stitched satin ribbon add texture.

I made this card last year for a friend who lost her Mother.  It is CASEd from a gorgeous card by Jackie Pedro (The Scalloped Edge).

Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set

I just have to showcase this stamp set.  It is so lovely.  Gentle is a word I would use to describe it.  There are times when it’s hard to think of the right sentiment for a card. The Thoughts & Prayers stamp set sentiments always seem to help find one.

Retired Stampin’ Up! Product Substitutions

This card was made using several Stampin’ Up! products – two of which are retired.  The decorative paper is the Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the ribbon is the Pool Party 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon.  IMHO you could recreate the look of this card using the current Delighful Daisy DSP.

Delightful Daisy DSP collection image by Stampin' Up! updated to include coordinating colors by Stampin' With Pixie. This DSP is filled with pastel- and other soft Spring colors, flowers, swirls etc - stampin' with pixie stampin up stampin with pixie.

Change the Island Indigo cardstock mat to a color that coordinates with your choice of DSP and then select one of the many Stampin’ Up! color coordinated ribbons to replace the Pool Party 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon.

Odds & Ends

The buttons on the front of the Thoughts & Prayers Sympathy card came from my button box. Odds and ends from the past.  The scalloped border was created using a non-Stampin’ Up! border punch.  I think the card would look lovely with a border created using the Stampin’ Up! Decorative Ribbon Border Punch.

Square Card Square Envelope

The Thoughts & Prayers Sympathy Card measures 5″ x 5″.  No standard pre-made envelope for this one so I used my Envelope Punch Board to make the envelope.  To decorate the flap, flip the envelope over and place it face-down on the back of the DSP you want to use.  Trace the outline and cut it out.  Adhere it using a strong glue like the Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Speaking of Envelope Punch Board here’s a nifty little video about it:
