Ready for a breath of Spring? I am! This Swirly Bird Happy Birthday Card made using Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper, the Swirly Bird stamp set and Swirly Scribbles Framelits should do the trick.
Bright Breezy Swirls
Oh my goodness do I love the Delightful Daisy DSP. This particular design just took my fancy. It’s so bright, cheery and fresh. You can almost smell the scent of Spring flowers on the air when you look at it. I don’t know about you but we sure could use a bit of Spring warmth here in frozen North Carolina.
Coordinating Swirly Scribbles
Pretty sure Stampin’ Up! planned it this way but don’t you think the swirl scribble coordinates nicely with the DSP design? It’s die cut from Marina Mist cardstock using the swirl from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits dies. Love this die set.
I originally bought this die set because I liked the long scribbles on the right. They are prefect for hills, snowbanks etc. Then I started using the round scribbles for flowers, nests, frames, snowmen and so on. A very versatile die set.
A Bluebird Of Happiness
The swirly die cut called out for a little bluebird of happiness. It was stamped using the Swirly Bird stamp set and Marina Mist Classic Stampin’ ink and then fussy cut. The fun flowers were stamped using the same set and Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin’ ink. They were die cut using the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits.
What do you see when you look at this stamp set? I see sail boats, flowers, a wave, leaves and three little eggs or jelly beans among other things.
Offset For Interest
This card has a clean and simple layout. To spiff it up a bit and add interest, I offset the artwork to the right side of the card front and mixed up the mat sizes. I really wanted to show off the DSP and leave as much of it exposed as possible. The sentiment comes from the Balloon Celebration stamp set. It’s a smaller font so it doesn’t overwhelm the card especially lined up on the left.
Color Inspiration
The Delightful Daisy DSP is filled with soft muted colors like Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Soft Sky. To make this card, I pulled the Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight colors from the DSP design and paired them with Whisper White.
