Let’s celebrate your day with this beautiful card made using the Touches of Texture stamp set and the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper.
Touches of Texture – Backgrounds and Beyond
First – this is a jam-packed stamp set. There are so many stamps in here Stampin’ Up! needed to package it in two cases! Second – this is so much more than a background stamp set. The stamps in this set create beautiful backgrounds and lovely primary centerpiece images. The designer paper I selected for the card had an intricate pattern so I chose to use a simple stamped image for the card front. The lovely spray of flowers in this set worked nicely.
Rich and Regal Color
The Fresh Fig ink and cardstock used in this card is such a rich and regal color. It’s perfect for masculine and feminine cards. It’s paired here with decorative paper from the Fresh Florals Designer Series paper. The look is just a bit old world. The color works beautifully in a monotone color design creating a clean simple yet classic look. I love it.
Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper – More Than Just Flowers
The stunning double-sided Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper is about so much more than flowers. Yes – the flower-patterned papers are beautiful with patterns ranging from large bold flowers to delicate blossoms. But, truth be told, I love the geometric patterns on flip sides even more. They can be used anywhere and for any occasion. Scrumptious paper!
Sneak In A Sentiment
Did you catch it? The sentiment on this card didn’t come from Touches of Texture. It came from the lovely Bunch of Blossoms stamp set. These multi-step stamps coordinate with the Blossom Builder punch to create a huge variety of beautiful flower images (and punch art creations). But more on that in another post. One of the many things I like about Stampin’ Up! products is how well they all work together. It really makes the crafting dollar go much further when you can mix and match products seamlessly.
Flowers Here and There. Flowers Everywhere.
A quick and simple way to add a special touch to the inside of a card is to stamp images from the Touches of Texture stamp set. On this one, I used the Fresh Fig ink and stamped multiple times without re-inking. This created a soft shabby-chic look to the flowers. Nice.
The original design for this card traveled the world. One of the joys of being a part of the Stampin’ Up! community of crafters is that you get to make friends all over the world. We share ideas across continents and oceans. It is wonderful! The original design for this card started with Brian King right here in the USA. He participated in a blog hop with the amazing Kylie Bertucci in Australia. She loved his card layout and modified it to use a now retired designer series paper. I saw her card and knew I had to use the Fresh Fig colors and the Fresh Florals paper with it. And that’s how a card design travels around the world and back again. Pretty incredible huh?
