Color Color Everywhere!
Just a quick post today to give you a Sneak Peek of the new Color Theory Suite. This incredible suite is coming with the new catalog on June 1. It’s got a little bit of everything and A LOT of color. Just look at the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack!
The paper stack matches the new 2017-2019 In Color Collection. It includes “paint chip” sheets that automagically create the ombre look for your projects. It also includes marble and crackle patterned papers. Texture effects without the work!
There is just so much ooomph in this Suite it’s hard to put into words. I will tell ya it is one of my favorites because I can use it all year long. The paper, stamps and dies cross all seasons. I like products that give me a lot of bang for the buck. The Color Theory Suite is one of them.
Shine On! Shine On Little Sparkly Dots
You all know I’m a bling girl and here is one of my favorite things about this Suite. Glitter enamel dots!!! Do I need to say more? Look!
Oooooh shine and glitter and ombre! Multiple sizes! Lots and lots o’ dots! Seriously awesome!

Sneak Peek and Retiring Bundle News
How about a Sneak Peek at the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack coming in the new catalog AND a heads up about a retiring bundle? That’s what this post is about. This is a simple z-fold anniversary card I made using the brand new Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper (DSP) stack and the retiring Best Birds Bundle. I really like how the DSP pattern, the bird stamp and the background stamp combine to create a “toile” feel for the card. I wanted to share a sneak peek of this pretty DSP and let you know the Best Birds Bundle will be retiring at the end of May.
Fresh Florals Peek
Let the ooohhhhing and aaaahhhhhing begin! Isn’t it pretty? Of course, thankfully, it coordinates perfectly with the new 2017-2019 In Color Collection. I say thankfully because I am color/pattern coordination impaired. Stampin’ Up! coordinated products are such a big help to me when I’m making stuff. They do all the work for me. In keeping with current crafting trends, one side of the DSP is very lightly distressed or faded in spots so that the images have a shabby chic appearance. The other side contains a beautiful coordinating pattern. The Fresh Florals DSP will be available for purchase when the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog goes live on June 1. I wouldn’t wait too long to get a stack. Based on the Fresh Florals popularity among fellow Stampin’ Up! demos I think this DSP will be on backorder before you can say “Shazam!” (Admit it. You say Shazam all the time don’t you?)
Best Birds Bundle Is Retiring
I have to admit I love birds and I tend to collect bird stamps, paper, images and dies. I wanted this stamp and die set bundle for a LONG time before I bought it. What was I thinking? Why did I wait so long? It is just lovely. Precious little flowers, cute birds, perfect sentiments in a beautiful font combined with the dies to easily cut them out. What’s not to love? Now the Best Birds Bundle is retiring. As of May 31st, the Best Birds Bundle will no longer be available. That means the 10% savings will be gone too. If you purchase the Best Birds stamp set or the matching Birds & Blooms Thinlits after May 31 you will pay full price. Note: The Best Birds Bundle includes the Best Birds stamp set and the Birds & Blooms Thinlits set. Save a bundle on a bundle purchase the Best Birds Bundle now at my online store. Another reason to buy the bundle – If you’re a new customer (haven’t ordered from me in the last year) you’ll qualify for a FREE hardcopy of the new catalog when you buy this bundle. How To Make A Z-Fold Card
It’s really easy to make a Z-Fold card. I learned how to make this one from a tutorial by Patty Bennett. Here are the steps:
1) Cut a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of cardstock. I used Tranquil Tide (part of the new 2017-2019 In Color Collection.)
2) Align the long edge of the cardstock along the top of the Simply Scored Scoring tool. Score at 4 1/4″ and 1 1/4″.
3) Fold at the 4 1/4″ score line to create the card base. Then fold back toward the front of the card at the 1 1/4″ score line to create the “flap”.
4) Decorate the card in any way you like. To make this one, I stamped the background and the bird images on Whisper White cardstock using Tranquil Tide Classic Stampin’ Ink. Then I used the Layering Squares Framelits to cut out the image. The mat for the image is a piece of Tranquil Tide cardstock cut using a slightly larger Layering Square die. After I had cut strips of the DSP and adhered them to the left front edge of the card and the right interior edge of the card, I attached the bird image to the front flap. I stamped “Happy Anniversary” inside the card using a stamp from the Best Birds set and Tranquil Tide ink.
Does it get any easier? Four easy steps to create a beautiful card to celebrate a special occasion or tell someone you care.
